The 7th Annual Circle of Peace seminar was held on February 5, 2018 at the George Fox University in Newberg, OR. Jewish, Muslim and Christian speakers address the following questions from their respective scriptures:
- How do teachings and practice of your religious tradition support not only building your faith community but also contribute to the development of the larger diverse community? How does your religion/faith tradition assist you in finding common ground with people that hold different beliefs to you?
- How do the teachings and practices of your faith undermine finding common ground with people that you disagree with in our society?
- How can we reconfigure our education and interpretation to strengthen our connection to finding common ground with humanity? How can we move from “us” and “them” to build an inclusive community? How can we move forward and strengthen our ability to find common ground during these turbulent times?
- What does this look in practice? Real-life stories? Examples?
